Feeling a little
upside-down lately?

During tough times it may be difficult to find meaning in life.

This issue presents a simple meditation exercise that might help.

You can try it both in and out of yoga class.

Allow Yourself to Be

You might question, "Why me? Why do I continuously have to suffer?"

We are constantly striving to grasp pleasant feelings and to push away negative feelings.

Yoga affords us a chance to take a break from the "busyness" of our lives, to stop our constant "doing" and allow ourselves to "be". We can observe our thoughts and feelings and let them go without getting caught up in them.

Why not take this one step further outside yoga class? But how? The next section provides a wonderful suggestion.

Learning to be Free

"If we learn to be aware of feelings without grasping or aversion, then they can move through us like changing weather, and we can be free to feel them and move on like the wind.

It can be a very interesting meditation exercise to focus specifically on our feelings for several days. We can name each one and see which ones we are afraid of, which ones we are entangled by, which ones generate stories and how we become free.

'Free' is not free from feelings, but free to feel each one and let it move on, unafraid of the movement of life. We can apply this to the difficult patterns that arise for us. We can sense what feeling is at the center of each experience and open to it fully.

This is a movement toward freedom."

—Jack Kornfield, A Path With a Heart

Weekend Getaway

Once again a group of us will be heading up to the Sivananda Yoga Camp for a weekend of yoga and relaxation in Val Morin. If you would like to join us on March 22nd and 23rd, please call me to reserve your place. The price is $75.

Networking

Many of you are aware that I am member of BNI, Business Network International, a networking group. Our chapter is the largest in the world and we meet every Wednesday morning for breakfast.

If you know of any entrepreneurs who would like to increase their business through word-of-mouth marketing, please ask them to contact me. They could visit our chapter as my guest.

And if you ever need a service, anything from a plumber to a massage, from gourmet coffee to a cell phone, from translation to office supplies, even an honest lawyer, please ask me and I'd be happy to set you up with someone that you can trust.

Spring Session

Spring session is starting the week of March 24th. Please call to reserve your place and if you know of anyone who is stressed and needs to relax be sure to tell them to come try out one of my classes.

I look forward to hearing from you,
Sue-Anne
