Why Avoid the Things That Benefit Us the Most?

Warning! Yoga may create a positive influence in your life!
So why are many people wary about starting, and continuing yoga?
Some wait years before taking the first step to register for a class. Others create many excuses about why they are unable to attend.

It is much easier to remain unconscious in life than to wake up and start making changes. Often once you start, there is no turning back.

Sometimes the changes brought about by yoga are very subtle and gradual, making it hard to pinpoint yoga as the cause. One might develop more patience, more self acceptance, an ability to remain calm in stressful situations, a healthier lifestyle and diet, more energy, more restful sleep, more positive and happy feelings, an ability to look at challenges as lessons….the list goes on.

Yoga is not so much about developing a flexible body, as it is about developing a flexible mind.

Our Experiences Shape Us

We face challenges every day and can deal with them in either a conscious or unconscious manner. In difficult times we may ask ourselves, "Why is this happening in my life at this moment? Is there a lesson I need to learn?" What is it?"

Could it be we are here at this time because we chose to be? Is it that we draw to us exactly what we need to experience?

If you look back over your life, you may see that your experiences made it possible to arrive at where you are now.

Throughout our yoga classes there is a continual practice of relaxation. When we relax within our lives, we see our challenges and the means to accept them more clearly.

Vegetarian Recipe

Here is a simple and delicious spread for sandwiches or salads. You may add lettuce and tomato slices to the sandwich.

Tofu Spread

1 package of Knorr Swiss vegetable Soup Mix
450 gram package of tofu (I use Horium, found in natural food stores)
2 tablespoons olive oil
A few spoonfuls of mayonnaise (optional)
80 ml (1/3 cup) freshly squeezed lemon juice

Empty the contents of the soup mix into a food processor, pulse to break into smaller pieces. Cut the tofu into large squares, add to the soup mix and process with all of the other ingredients, until smooth. Keep in the refrigerator a few hours to allow the vegetable flakes to soften before eating.
